Embarking on a noble mission, Bio-Med initiated the production of high-quality vaccines crucial for the requirements of a developing country. Given India's susceptibility to various diseases due to its tropical climate, some of these ailments had previously reached epidemic proportions. In the beginning, the majority of vaccines had to be imported, impacting the nation's self-esteem and resulting in significant foreign exchange outflows. Considering this context, the foundation of Bio-Med was established on May 11, 1972.
