Proparacaine
It is used in the eye as an anesthetic to numb the pain that may occur during eye procedures (e.g., surgery.
Just before the surgery put 2-4 drops, it may be repeated after 5-10 min depending on the response.
Hypersensitivity.
Pregnancy: Category C; use if risk to fetus outweighs benefits. Lactation: Not known if secreted in milk.
Redness, burning, or stinging sensation.
