Sulbutiamine

It is an ester of thiazides. It binds selectively to muscarinic receptors in a large no. of cerebral structures activated by the reticular activating system and targeted by central chlnergic neurons.

Indications

Postpartum asthenia with polymorphic symptoms, intellecutal asthenia, postinfection (viral /bacterial) asthenia, psychological stress, emotional lability.

Dosage

Adults: 400 mg per day. Elderly: 200 mg per day. In severe asthenic syndrome, start with 600-800 mg in single/multiple dosse.

Contra-Indications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Stop the treatment even mild agitation or allergy occurs. Reduce dose in elderly.

Side Effects

Mild agitation in elderly. Allergic skin disorders.
