Now, Kiosks to Help Women Learn Breast Cancer Self-Examination
In a powerful step toward women’s health empowerment, Medanta Hospital, Noida, has launched its innovative ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’ kiosks — a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to teach women how to perform breast self-examinations through real, hands-on learning.
The project, rolled out nationwide by the Medanta Cancer Institute, marks a major shift in the way breast cancer awareness is spread — moving beyond verbal advice to practical education that can save lives.
The kiosks offer a safe, stigma-free, and private space where women can learn to examine themselves using life-size simulators, guided by Medanta’s trained nursing team.
This initiative aims to reach over 10 million women across India, breaking the barriers of hesitation and taboo that often surround discussions about breast health.
Speaking about the launch, Dr. Vuthaluru Seenu, Director of Endocrine & Breast Surgery at Medanta, said, “Timely screening and self-examination can help detect breast cancer early and save lakhs of lives. The ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’ initiative turns awareness into action and inspires countless families to make self-examination a monthly habit.”
Every minute, four women are diagnosed with breast cancer around the world, and tragically, one of them loses her life within five years of diagnosis. These numbers underline the urgent need for proactive awareness and early detection.
Through this program, Medanta is helping women overcome fear and stigma by teaching them how to take charge of their health in a practical, compassionate way.
The kiosks are part of Medanta’s broader ‘Jaanta Hai Medanta’ movement — a heartfelt campaign that reflects the hospital’s deep understanding of every family’s fight against cancer. It’s not just a slogan, but a promise: that Medanta stands beside every patient, every step of the way. Inside the kiosks, women are welcomed with simple, easy-to-understand messages about why self-exams are important.
They then watch expert-led videos and educational demonstrations, before moving on to a private learning area where they can practice on simulators under the supervision of trained nurses. It’s an experience that blends learning with empowerment — one that gives women the confidence to take charge of their own breast health.
With this initiative, Medanta is not only raising awareness but also redefining how healthcare institutions connect with communities. The message is clear — awareness saves lives, but action saves even more.
Through ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’, Medanta is ensuring that awareness turns into life-saving action for millions of women across India.
